The seventh-grade Raiders defeated the Colts by a close 3-2 margin with Michael May getting the win off the hill with four strong innings of work. May gave up only two hits and fanned four Colts. Chantz Placek pitched thre innings of shutout relief for for CMS allowing two hits with four strikeouts.
Ben Wyrick, Hunter Oliver, Kaleb Zaez and May all hit safely for the Raiders. Placek picked up a pair of RBIs.
In the eighth-grade game, CMS won by a score of 8-2.
Joseph Martin tossed six innings of solid baseball sitting down five Colts while giving up three hits. Austin Dykes came on to pitch the seventh and allowed one hit with three Ks.
The Raiders banged out 11 hits in the win. Leading the attack for CMS was Derek Nichols with three hits and three RBIs. Clint Clayton and May got two hits each for Cleveland.
