He was the son of the late Flora Woods and Ralph Smith. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
He was retired from the Bradley County Health Department. He enjoyed camping, trout fishing and loved working out in his yard and gardening. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Keith Kendrick of Cleveland; two sons: Kenny Kendrick, Shane Kendrick and his wife, Vicki, both of Cleveland; the pride and joy of his life a granddaughter, Evie Kendrick of Cleveland; his brothers: Melvin Kendrick and his wife, Sheila, of Cleveland, Harold Kendrick of Georgia; several sisters, nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, JoAnn Black .
The family will receive friends today, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
