Patty Ann Carter Grissom, 76, of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, Dec. 14, 2010. She passed away in a local health care facility with her loving family by her side.

She was a devoted and loving wife, beloved mother, precious sister and a wonderful grandmother.

She ministered, along side her husband, in pastoral ministry in Zion, Ill., and Bridgeview, Ill.; when they were called to overseer work in the Church of God, she served as executive state ladies director in Alaska and Great Lakes Region. After serving the church in those capacities, they were appointed to the Heart of Florida Youth Ranch in Ocala, Fla.

She was a member of North Cleveland Church of God. She loved people and being active in teaching and other ministries in the church. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is now absent from the body, present with the Lord and sheltered in the arms of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Mae Carter and Ted Carter; one brother and sister-in-law, Wib and Virginia Carter; sisters: Velm McIntyre and Mary Lou Crider; and one brother-in-law, the Rev. Don Rhein.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, the Rev. Tom Grissom of Cleveland; two sons and daughter-in-law: the Rev. Kevin and Barbara Grissom of Blackshear, Ga., and Mark Grissom of Cleveland; two loving sisters and brother-in-law: Viola Rhein of Carmi, Ill., and Jeanne and Emil Bair of Tucson, Ariz.; four precious grandchildren: Greg, Ian, Erin and Sean; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life and Home Going of Patty Ann Grissom will be held Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at 2 p.m. at North Cleveland Church of God with the Revs. Kevin Grissom, Mitch Maloney, Dr. Don Meyer and Dr. Tom Frye officiating.

Interment will be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Stovall officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Grissom Funeral Home, Cleveland.
