Capt. Eric Watson of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office noticed a storage unit at 5080 Waterlevel Highway had been broken into and contacted patrol deputy Brandon Edwards.
Edwards made contact with the renter, Miranda Coffelt, who stated she had moved to Kentucky but was continuing to rent the unit.
Coffelt said furniture such as beds, a dresser, chests, chairs and lamps, a television and children’s clothing should have been in the storage unit.
All was missing, according to Edwards’ report.
Criminal Investigations Division detectives were called to the scene to follow up on the theft.
According to the report, the missing items were valued at $1,375.
- Edwards also responded to Applegate Inn located on Veteran’s Highway (APD 40) where he began an investigation into a vehicle burglary.
Shawn Brownell said someone forced entry to his truck sometime during the weekend. A window had been broken, according to the report.
A wallet containing miscellaneous forms of identification and other documents; approximately 40 music compact discs and a black leather notebook containing blank checks were discovered missing. Investigation into the burglary is continuing.
- Cleveland police arrested one person on theft charges after she allegedly shoplifted items from a local retailer.
Joanna L. Woods was arrested by officer Steve West of the Cleveland Police Department.
West was dispatched to the Kohl’s department store located on Frontage Road, and spoke with the loss prevention manager, who had detained Woods.
According to his report, Woods allegedly concealed silver jewelry and other items in her clothing.
The estimated loss would have been approximately $636, according to the report.
Woods was transported to the Bradley County Jail and booked on the theft charge.
