She was the daughter of the late Millie Haslett Bancroft and George Bancroft. She as preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Parmer; her daughter, Imogene Parmer, her son, Leroy Parmer; her sisters: Maude Romines, Margie Murray and Virgie Sherlin; and her brothers: Elmer, Otis, Howard, Thomas, Frank and Paul Bancroft.
She was a full-time homemaker, including canning a lot of fruits and vegetables grown on their farm. She churned and sold milk and butter to friends and relatives.
She had a special love and affection for young people. She would keep many young children in her home during the day while their parents worked.
She was a friend to all who knew her and was the oldest living member of the Bancroft Church of God, where she sang, taught Sunday school and served as secretary and treasurer for the church for many years.
Survivors include her son, Doyle Parmer of McDonald; sister, Alma Earls; special nieces: Peggy Burris and Connie Bancroft; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Dr. Jerry Bancroft and family and friends officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery with the Rev. Norman Stallings officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Dove release will conclude the services.
The family requests memorials be made to the Bancroft Church of God Ladies Auxiliary.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
