She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was the first female rural mail carrier in Cleveland/Bradley County.
She loved to travel and traveled to 47 of the 48 continental United States.
She was preceded in death by parents, Archie Burton Eaton and Lena Katherine Hunt Eaton; five brothers: Charles Eaton, Cecil Eaton, Lonnie Eaton, Larry Eaton, and Wayne Eaton; and two sisters: Mary Belle Harrold and Ollie Viola Perian.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Lee Ellis, of Cleveland; daughter, Judy Nix Johnson of Cleveland and her fiancé Dewayne Patty; brothers: John R. Eaton, Henry Eaton, and Jimmy Eaton; and two grandchildren: Dustin Nix and Alexis Johnson.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at Grissom Funeral Home with the Revs. Earl Farris and Harold Bryant officiating.
Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with John Young, Lewis Harrold Jr., Chris Fowler, Dewayne Patty, Charles Patty, and Eric Patty serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
