She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, N.T. “Nep” and Delta Colley Thompson; brothers: Clyde Thompson and Claude Thompson; and sister, Ruth Lawson.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Hubert Watson of Cleveland; children: Alan Watson and wife, Michele, of Columbia; Bryan Watson and wife, Jennifer, of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren: Brittany Watson, Jessica Watson, Michael Watson, Emily Watson and Ashlin Watson; brother, Curt Thompson of Homestead, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Westwood Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Caywood, Pastor Jack Price and Pastor Steve Smartt officiating.
Interment will follow at Michigan Avenue Baptist Church Cemetery with Michael Watson, Danny Watson, Roger York, Harold Reno, Boyce Watson, Randy Watson and Cecil Watson serving as pallbearers. Greeters at Westwood Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
The family will also receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday prior to the service.
