William Darrell Turner, 87, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, in a local hospital, after a brief illness.
He was retired from Magic Chef/Whirlpool with over 40 years of service.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was very proud of his military service to his country.
He was an active member of Woodmen of the World.
He was a longtime member of Chestuee United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Helen Ann Turner; parents, Warren and Maude Turner; and siblings: Thomas Turner, Vivian Hall and Theron Turner.
Survivors include his son, Ralph Turner and Tena Wilson of Cleveland; daughter, Margaret Ridge and husband, Michael Sr., of Georgetown; grandchildren: Michael Ridge Jr. and wife, Emily, of Cleveland, Meghan Caldwell and husband, Robby, of Memphis, Olivia Todd of Seymour and Mariena Chae’ Wilson of Cleveland; great-grandson, Gabriel Todd of Seymour; siblings: Imogene Moonyham, Rebecca Burchfield, Edward Turner and Dianne Brown; and several special nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, with the Rev. Tom Wickes officiating. Interment followed in Chestuee United Methodist Church Cemetery, with full military honors.
