Wilda Loretta Cook
Wilda Loretta Cook, 86, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at a local healthcare facility.
She was born to the late Ernest and Mable Lindamuth on Dec. 5, 1931. Wilda and her husband, Charlie Payne, played the Grand Ole Opry and also had multiple theaters they had opened. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Maple Lindamuth; and brother, Ray Lindamuth.
She is survived by her children: Dana Lyn Rook, Dixie L. Perry, and Charles Payne; sister, Peggy Briggs; grandkids: Ross Perry, Curtis Payne, Misty Fedum, Christy Hixson, Chauncy Griffith; and great-grandkids: Knox Fedum, Eleanor Hixson, Dominic and Deacon Payne, Aiden, Bryce and Abagail Griffith.
There will be a Celebration of Life service Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Companion Funeral Home, Cleveland Chapel.
The family will receive friends before the service from 3 to 5 p.m.
