CHATTANOOGA — Parkridge East Hospital CEO Jarrett Millsaps has named Lynn Whelan, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, as the facility’s assistant chief nursing officer. Whelan returns to the area after leadership positions at healthcare facilities in Houston, Texas, and Atlanta.
“Whelan brings a wealth of expertise in the advancement of nursing practice that will serve Parkridge East well as we continue to grow its service areas across the Tennessee Valley,” Millsaps said. “She is committed to advancing the practice of healthcare and dedicated to enriching the lives of others around her. We are incredibly fortunate to have someone like her join our team.”
Most recently, Whelan served as chief nursing officer at Foundation Hospital of Houston, in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, she was ACNO at Emory Healthcare, in Atlanta. At Emory, Whelan oversaw cardiac and procedural services areas. She served as service line administrator in Medicine and was director of Critical Care Services at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta.
Whelan earned her doctor of nursing practice degree from The University of Alabama, where she graduated summa cum laude. She graduated summa cum laude from Emory University School of nursing with a master of science in nursing degree and from Kennesaw College, now Kennesaw State University, in Marietta, Georgia, with a bachelor of science in nursing degree.
