W.C. Vaughan retires as Victory Drive COG pastor

For 10 years, W.C. Vaughan has served the Victory Drive Church of God as pastor. He served in that capacity until Sunday, Feb. 24.
Vaughan received his ministerial license with the Church of God in 1956. He was ordained in 1963. He served for 46 years as a pastor in Ohio, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. He and his wife, Myra, had officially retired when he was asked in 2008 to “fill in” at the Victory Drive Church of God.

A church spokesman noted that during his time at Victory Drive, Vaughan “led the congregation into a closer walk with Christ. He spent countless hours studying, praying and presenting Sunday school lessons, Wednesday and Sunday services. Pastor Vaughan has been a blessing to our church and our community.”

Bishop T. Wayne Dority, administrating bishop for the Church of God in Tennessee, was at the church on Wednesday discussing pastoral options with the congregation.
