Mother Nature interrupted Thursday evening's Chattanooga Area Swim League match at the South Cleveland Community Center, but the home-standing Waterdogs already had a commanding lead.

Picking up their first victory of the summer swim season, the Waterdogs claimed a 317-186 decision over visiting Cumberland Currents.

Now 1-1 in White Division action, the Waterdogs will travel to Ridgeside in Chattanooga Monday for their next meet. The action against the Dolphins will begin at 6 p.m.

With races only making it through the backstroke events, the Waterdogs were led in scoring last night by Kailey Ruckman with 15 points.

Will Fowler was right behind with 13 points, while Caiden Cross and Anna Garner posted 11 points apiece.

The hosts also had 10 swimmers — Elijah Bean, Jack Chandler, Timothy Collier, Jae Dauphinais, Brendon Ruckman, Davina Sharma, Levi Steve, Alice Torchick, Laura Ward and Asher Williams — earn 10 points each to aid in the victory.

The Cleveland Aqua Tigers had a bye Thursday evening and will return to the Tinsley Park pool Monday when the Calhoun (Georgia) Blue Barracudas come to town for a Red Division meet.
