Vera L. Green

Vera L. Green, 90 of Cleveland , passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, peacefully in a local healthcare facility. 

 She was a teacher for many years in Georgia and Tennessee, retiring from Polk County High School.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Calvin Green; her sister, Alice Green Harbison; her parents, William Alexander  Green Sr. and Annie Adelaide Green; and a very precious person, Warren “Runt” McQueen.
She is survived by her brother, William (Bill) Green Jr. and wife, Helen Joyce Green; brother-in-law, Charles Harbison; niece, Connie Green; nephews: Steve and Chris Harbison and Billy and Mark Green; and several special great-nieces and great-nephews.
 The Celebration of Vera’s Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, located at 2415 Georgetown Road, N.W., Cleveland,  with the Rev. Ken Scoggins officiating. 

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service time on Saturday. 

Committal will immediately follow at the Mount Herman Cemetery in Polk County.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Polk County Education Foundation, P.O. Box 752,  Benton, TN  37307.
