During spring testing this year, Oak Grove Elementary School provided students with an incentive program to motivate them to do their best.
"Students were required to meet three expectations each day to earn recognition," said Buck Watson, principal of Oak Grove. "They were asked to be at school on time, use the entire time during their testing each day and show evidence of using at least one test-taking strategy they had learned this year."
The names of students who met these requirements were placed in a drawing for prizes at the end of the testing window.
Oak Grove Elementary is a BEST Partner with Duracell through the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce.
Duracell donated a boy's and girl's bicycle to students whose names were picked from a drawing.
"Congratulations to third-grader Shane Walker and fourth-grader Jakia Young for being the winners of these bicycles," Watson said. "Thank you to Duracell for your support of Oak Grove Elementary School."
