Today is registration deadline to help with homeless survey

Posted

Today is the deadline to register for anyone interested in helping the local Homeless Task Force collect data for the annual Point in Time survey.

The Homeless Task Force has been exploring how to improve the continuum of care, and investigating gaps in services for those who do not have stable housing.

“To move forward, we need more current data on the needs of those in our community experiencing homelessness,” Freeman stated in an email to the Cleveland Daily Banner.

The annual Point in Time survey is approaching at the end of January, and support from the community is needed to capture as much data as possible during this week.

“This count, while limited in many ways, is considered a valid source for planning and resource development,” Freeman said. “We have strengthened our connection with the Chattanooga Area Homeless Coalition to open up new resources and opportunities.”

Training will be on Jan. 16, at 2 p.m., for anyone interested in being a part of this data collection event.

Anyone interested in helping the local Homeless Task Force collect data for the annual Point in Time survey should contact Corinne Freeman at corinne@thecaringplaceonline.org, today, for more details and an invitation to the training.
