Thomas Lynn Weir, 54, a life-long resident of McMinn County, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at a Knoxville health care facility.
He graduated in 1980 from McMinn County High School. He owned and operated Tom’s Small Engine for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. He was of the Christian faith.
Tom is proceeded in death by his father, Clyde Thomas Weir; paternal grandparents, Loyd Thomas and AnnaBell Howard Weir; and maternal grandparents, Floyd and Emma Pickens Peters; three cousins, Lisa Weir, Cheria Edmonson and Clinton Weir.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Amy Nicole Weir; mother, Linda Peters Weir; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffery and Pam Weir; nephews: Justin and Whitney Weir and Blake and Hannah Witt; and several aunts, uncles, other extended family members and friends..
The funeral will be held on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home of Athens.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. A graveside service will be held on Sunday following the service at Piney Grove Methodist Church.
