The Caring Place closed this week for cleaning

Posted
The Caring Place announced Sunday that the nonprofit will close its facility this week due to “the rise in new community cases” of COVID-19.

The facility is closing for a deep clean, during which time they will assess volunteer capacity and “evaluate potential improvements to current protocols for masks, gloves, cleaning procedures and handwashing” to limit spread.

No food or donations can be accepted during the closure, the announcement states, but social services will still be available via phone. Mobile pantries will also continue as scheduled.

It was unclear whether the closure was due to a case of COVID-19 within the facility. Representatives of The Caring Place were not immediately available for comment.
