Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson praised his office's SWAT team Saturday for a quick and determined response to an precarious incident on Belleview Drive S.E.
The Bradley County Communications Center received a call at 12:38 p.m., reporting an apparent burglary in progress at 372 Belleview Drive.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies observed a white male inside the residence armed with a handgun. The SWAT team was called to the location, as the subject barricaded himself in a rear room of the residence.
The SWAT team was able to resolved the situation in around two hours, and subdue the person in question.
Watson identified the subject as Michael Hersheal Long, 63, of 372 Belleview Drive. Long was taken to the hospital by ambulance for observance, and charges are pending.
