A South Carolina resident was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 75 Friday afternoon.
Cara Diane Saylor-Slaughter, 43, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., died in the wreck which occurred just before 2 p.m. at the 28-mile marker southbound of the interstate, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Trooper Cameron Azbill said in his report Saylor-Slaughter was traveling at a high rate of speed on the interstate, and swerved on the roadway, then overcorrected, causing her 1993 Jeep Wrangler to run off the left side of the interstate.
The trooper's report explained the Jeep rolled over three to four times, with the South Carolina woman being ejected. She landed on the right side of the roadway in the grass approximately 215 feet from the vehicle, Azbill's report noted.
Saylor-Slaughter was pronounced dead on the scene, the trooper said.
Interstate traffic was affected following the wreck, with motorists having to wait for clean-up and emergency vehicles.
