Roy Glenn Brown, 85, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at his home.

He was a dedicated worker, overseeing maintenance at both Kayline and Cooke’s manufacturing. He also loved spending time hunting and working on cars. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by parents, Chester and Bertha Cross Brown; children: Jimmy Brown and Diane Brown; sisters: Ella Pope, Mamie Parks, Geneva Durham, Anna Bell McClelland and Margie Wilson; and brothers: Fred Brown, Arnold Brown and Frank Brown.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Jewerl Brown; grandchildren: Melissa Allen and Shawna (Brian) Sandlan; great-grandson, Theron Allen; special niece, Karen Ratcliff; special friends: Marilyn Martin, April Pena, Tony McKnight, Sherrell Gargala and Donnie Maples; several more nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home, Cleveland Chapel.

The Celebration of Life service will be held at 7 p.m., following the visitation, with the Rev. Dustin Jenkins officiating.

A special thank-you to Avalon Hospice and their staff, especially to Tammy, Betty, Matt, and the Rev. Joe Kemper for providing such great care and compassion.
