Rosa Mae Smalling Bivens, 92, of Benton and formerly of Vonore, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Etowah Health Care.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children: Nancy (James) Goss of Benton, Billy (G’Nell) Bivens, Cleveland, Jerry Bivens, Benton, Ray Bivens, Dandridge, Larry (Gabbi) Bivens, Perry, Ga., Peggy (Larry) Ellis, Ocoee, and Angie (David) Jones, Charleston; grandchildren: Shawn (Gary) Moses, Tiffany (Joe) Saul, Trevor (Jessica) Bivens, Jeremy (Olivia) Bivens, Clayton Bivens, Melissa (David) Crowe, Matthew (Jamie) Bivens, Rick Childs, Keith Childs, Lorenzo Bivens, Amy (Craig) Chastain, Kurt (Annette) Ellis, Jessica Graham, Aaron Jones, Preston Jones; 27 great-grandchldren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Sue (Bob) Kirkland, Gladys (Lloyd, Jr.) Matoy, Margaret Bright, Beulah Spurling, Roy (Sharon) Smalling, Lowell Smalling, Ronald Smalling, Lois Smalling; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Bivens; parents, Jesse and Bessie Smalling; and brothers: Oscar, Ray and Ralph Smalling.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bob Kirkland officiating. Interment will be in the  church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville.
