Ronald L. “Bud” Cansler, 77, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, in a local hospital.

He had owned Bud’s Auto Service and worked at Lincoln Mullinax. He was of the Christian faith. He loved classic cars, auto racing, and golfing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Grant Cansler and Flossie Bruce Cansler; one son-in-law, Albert Haire; and one brother, William Grant “Bill” Cansler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Peggy Elizabeth Holder Cansler; three children, Jake Cansler and wife, Donna, of Cleveland, Cindy Mayton and husband, Randy, of Cleveland, and Melinda Diane Haire of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, April Johnson and husband, Lyle, Shane Cansler and wif, Erin, Amy Nave and husband, Chad, Matthew Haire and wife, Christy, Becky Keller and husband, Josh, Jeannie Brown and husband, Dustin, and Dustin Cansler; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Christine Mayfield of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. B.J. Miller and the Rev. David O’Neal officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Lyle Johnson, Shane Cansler, Dustin Cansler, Matthew Haire, Joey Mayfield, and Jeremy Mayfield serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony, and the playing of bagpipes, will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
