Richard Green


Richard Lynn Green, 57, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away on Saturday evening, Dec. 29, 2018, at his home.

He was born on May 18, 1961.

Lynn was employed with Olin Chemical Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on tractors and spending time with his family.

Lynn leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 26 years, Shelia Thurman Green; father and mother, Richard Thomas Green and Wilma Liner Green; two children, Holly Saint and Nicholas Johnson; two brothers, Jeff Green (Freda) and Terry W. Green; five grandchildren, Aubrey Shickles, Hannah Shickles, Haleigh Shickles, Christopher Saint and Kody Johnson; special nieces and nephews, Megan Sneed, Lucas Green, Kacey Green and Colby Green; and  numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road, with the Rev. Mark Cameron officiating.

Interment will follow in the Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from noon until the 2 p.m. service time.
