Rhonda Jill Hopkins Maggirwar, 48, of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
She was born on July 1, 1969, to Ray and Myrna Hopkins. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and attended Lee University. She was also a member of Public Church, where she loved working with her friends and community groups. She was an animal lover and a dog sitter for many years. While she cared for all animals, she especially loved her dog, Poca. She was also an avid Clemson football fan.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Glenn C. and Ruth Pettyjohn and James and Pauline Hopkins.
She is survived by her parents: Ray and Myrna Hopkins; husband, Rajesh Maggirwar; sister, Trinka (Bill) McClure; aunts and uncles: Jim and Patti Hopkins, Steve and Debbie Hopkins, Linda Mackendree, Jerry and Gaye Smith, and Carol Pettyjohn; cousins: Chad (Jennifer) Hopkins, Melanie (Chris) Leonard, Stephanie (Derek) Sims, Tammy (Greg) Candle, Tim (Julie) Mackendree, Heather (Clint) Jenkins, Allison (Tim) Allen, Tony Black, Tammi Pettyjohn, and Kelley Black. In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
Her family would also like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and L’Tanya and Jason for their help, along with Candace with Helping Hands of Cleveland.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Nov. 19, 2017, at Companion Funeral Home with Todd Stevison, Todd Humbert, Mark Williams, Mitch Maloney, Cy Harris, and David Blair officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. service. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Eddie Jones, Bruce Blair, Derek Sims, Chris Gee, Wayne Slocumb, Lee Seales, Shawun Davis, and Tim Ogle serving as pallbearers.
