Ralph Buckner


Ralph Buckner, 87 of Delano, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at a hospital in Chattanooga after a short illness.

He was a son of the late John and Callie Buckner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons:Jerry Buckner and Dexter Buckner; three brothers: Luther, J.L. and Clayton Buckner; and five sisters: Ona Ray, Onoth, Eda Sue, Dorthy and Mildred.

In 1951 he married Mamie Henry, the love of his life. Together they have seven children, 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie Buckner; daughters: Virginia (Bobby) Freeman, Elizabeth Franklin, and Wanda (Jordan) Prock; granddaughter, Sissy (Jesse) Chastain; sons: Ralph Buckner Jr., and Frankie Buckner (Alice Bradford); and brother, Reed Buckner.

The funeral will be held at 7 tonight, May 10, 2019, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Harris officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to  7 this evening prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m., Saturday to proceed to Conasauga Cemetery for the noon committal service.

Serving as pallbearers will be his son, Frankie Buckner; two great-grandsons, Jesse Lowe and Tyler Robinson; Eric Buckner, Gordan Snyder, Bobby Moses and Jesse Chastain.
