Raleigh Arthell O’Daniel Jr.
They say a good man is hard to find; it's even harder when one is lost.
Raleigh Arthell O’Daniel Jr., born Nov. 30, 1937, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, but not before granting us one last Christmas to celebrate Christ’s birth.
He had also recently celebrated his 80th birthday, along with celebrating 47 years of marriage to Mary O’Daniel.
His love for his family was beyond compare and was modeled in his own soft-spoken manner. Determined, he fought the good fight of this glorious ruin of the flesh. He loved life and loved to laugh even more. Never complaining and always humble, he worked hard to provide for his family.
God granted him a long life by his faithful honoring of his parents, Raleigh and Lillie, despite the Goliath-like health issues he faced the last years of his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father: Raleigh Arthell O’Daniel Sr. and Lillie Mae O’Daniel.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mary O’Daniel; daughter, Kelly Pace (Travis); sons: Tony O’Daniel (Suzy) and Donnie O’Daniel; grandchildren: Luke Pace, Daniel Pace, Hannah Pace, Jordan Pruitt; great-grandson, Samuel Pace; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Companion Funeral Home. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. following visitation.
You are invited to share a personal memory of him or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com .
Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are honored to assist the O’Daniel family with these arrangements.
