Rachel Gregory Harting


Rachel Gregory Harting, 98, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, in a local hospital. 


She was born Aug. 13, 1919, in Orlinda. She was the daughter of the late Cora Lee Wilson Gregory and Shelby T. Gregory.  She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, the Rev. Paul J. Harting; and her brother, Dan Gregory. 


She was a minister's wife and homemaker. 
She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens.  She loved poetry and singing hymns in her church choir, and she attended the Methodist Church.

 

Survivors include her sons: Don C. Harting, M.D., and his wife, Elizabeth "Lil" Harting, of Cleveland, and Larry Joe Harting and his wife, Sherry Harting, of Suwanee, Ga.; granddaughter, Tiffany Harting and her husband, Todd Pryor; her great-grandchild, Tatum Pryor; and several nieces and nephews.

 

A private memorial service will be held at a later time for the family.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Harting's memory to the United Methodist Women of your local church or to the Cleveland Public Library. 


The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
