Phillip Barber, 71, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, June 6, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Phil was a long-time member of the administrative staff at Lee University, serving as fegistrar and in more recent years serving in the Division of Adult Learning.
He was a proud sponsor of Pi Kappa Pi at Lee University for 11 years and has been retired for three years.
He and his wife served 6 years as directors of Frankfurt Center through Church of God Ministry to the Military prior to residing in Cleveland. Phil was a proud United States Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Barber; mother, Irene Sutphin Barber; and two brothers: Jerry Barber and Larry Barber.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Barber: two daughters: Katie Barber and Kim Jones; son-in-law, Eddie Jones; two granddaughters: Chloe Jones and Macey Jones of Cleveland; one brother, Nick Barber of Wallace, N.C.; and three sisters: Shelby McGalliard of Pikeville, N.C., Judy McElmurry of Goldsboro, N.C., and Phyllis Posik.
The family will celebrate his life with a private ceremony at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
