Paul 'Scrub' Wilson

Paul “Scrub” Wilson, 72, a resident of Benton, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2018, at Tennova Health Care in Cleveland.

He loved to tell stories and make people laugh. He loved his church, daughters, grandchildren and was a devoted husband. He was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and Ocoee Lodge 212 F&AM.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Homer and Mae Wilson; and sisters, Bea Holman, Lois Gilley and Myrtle “Tootsie” Green.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy Wilson; daughters, Sherri (Gerald) Crump, Jennifer Serrano, Christy (Arthur) Trentham; grandchildren, Jasmine Serrano, Jared Serrano; stepgrandchildren, Corey (Jana) Crump, Oliver Crump, La-Rae Trentham, Masan Trentham; brothers, Harold Wilson of Knoxville, Robert Wilson of Spring City, Lloyd Wilson of Cartersville, Ga., and Mike Wilson of Benton; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Roberts and the Rev. Jay Goss officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the funeral home, concluded by a Masonic service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Green, Masan Trentham, Tim Lynch, Jesse Mashburn, Matt Cummings and Jason Green.
