Cleveland/Bradley Keep America Beautiful, the Bradley County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Department of Transportation are partnering to "bring awareness to the problem of litter."
Representatives will be giving away free "Nobody Trashes Tennessee" reusable grocery bags this Friday at Piggly Wiggly in Charleston. They will be available beginning at 9 a.m. and while supplies last.
"This campaign is focused on educating the public on a way they can cut down on their plastic bag use, which helps cut down on the plastic bags showing up as litter," said local KAB Executive Director Amanda Peels.
The local Piggly Wiggly is one of 483 grocery stores across the state which will be promoting the "Nobody Trashes Tennessee" message by hosting giveaways of the reusable bags.
