No injuries were reported in a traffic accident this morning involving a school bus and a pickup truck.

According to Cleveland Police Department spokesman Sgt. Evie West, CPD officers responded to an accident involving a Girls Preparatory School bus at approximately 6:43 this morning. The driver of the school bus stated he was traveling north on Guthrie Street and was turning left (west) onto 25th Street.

“He stated that he had been stopped at the stop sign and was waiting on traffic to clear,” West stated in an email to the Cleveland Daily Banner. “Once he observed no traffic traveling East on 25th, he proceeded onto 25th Street into the crossover. He stated that he never saw the other vehicle until he had struck it.”

The other vehicle was traveling west on 25th Street and turning left, south, onto Guthrie Street.

“[The driver] he stated that he was waiting on traffic to clear and when it did he began to make his turn and was struck in the driver's side by the bus,” West stated.

The bus was occupied by the driver and seven students, West said. No injuries were reported in the incident.
