NFL players urged to stop the protesting

To The Editor:

I'm tired of reading about the NFL, and now some cheerleaders ... the ones who are showing so much disrespect for our flag and national anthem. Shame on all of these people.

One day on TV I heard the [NFL] commissioner say he never told them to kneel down. He hasn't told them to stop, either.

I say get rid of  him and the players. He doesn't care what they do. He is super rich off the players. In fact, professional teams and players make far too much for playing. Reduce their checks. Or, better yet, fire them; at least, those who are guilty.

I believe the majority of the teams, and their players, are decent people. But these others make the whole league look bad, as well as our whole country.

Leave the flag and "The Star Spangled Banner" out of any protesting.

I've written before that  anyone who isn't thankful, or who isn't proud to live in this country, should just leave. Good riddance!

Stop all the griping. We have a pretty flag, and, while the anthem can be hard to sing, I do enjoy it when people who can sing it, sing it right. The words make me think of all those who willingly go off to fight in wars for the rest of us.

But war is just so sad. I hate all wars. So many good men and good women have died for the rest of us.
