Mitten Tree donation’s help local school children
Two local schools were provided with a welcomed supply of winter mittens, gloves and hats, thanks to the successful collection of donated items from this year's "Mitten Tree," at the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber staff undecorated the tree after Christmas and delivered boxes of warm accessories to Charleston Elementary and Yates Primary School, before the recent snap of cold temperatures.
“Thanks so much for the donation,” said Mike Collier, Yates Primary School principal. “It is good timing to have these available for students during the recent cold weather.”
Charleston Elementary kindergarten teacher Ashley Clayton also expressed appreciation for the donation, noting the winter mittens, gloves and hats are especially helpful with the current cold temperatures.
