Michael Taylor McConnell, 30, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018. 

He was born on Feb. 17, 1988, in East Ridge.  Taylor was a lifelong resident of this area and a 2006 graduate of Walker Valley High School.  He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, working in the yard and the garden, and cheering on UT Football.  Taylor also graduated from the Teen Challenge program in June of 2017.  Above all, he loved spending time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Reed and Laughton Runions, and Effie Chauncey; grandparents, Jess and Pat McConnell, and Joy Runions; and his  aunt, Linda McConnell.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Lynn Hovey (William); father, Mike  McConnell (Denise); sister, Chloe McConnell; brother, Eli McConnell; aunts and uncles: Melissa and Todd Liskey, Oliver and Leah Hovey, Kirk and Mary McConnell, Steve and Melissa McConnell, and Beth and Steve Waycaster; grandfather, Bill Runions; special cousin, Arthel Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.  

The family will receive friends from 3 until 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at Community Hall Church, located at 1305 6th Street Cleveland, TN 37311. 

A Celebration of Life service will follow the visitation at 6  p.m., with Pastor Jeannie Cissom officiating.

Companion Funeral and Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the McConnell family with these arrangements. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Taylor’s memory to Teen Challenge at 1099 Flat Rock Road, Azle, TX 76020.
