One person was shot during an incident Monday night in eastern Bradley County, and the shooting suspect is not facing charges at this time.

According to Adam Lewis, spokesman for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred on Coffey Road. Just after 10 p.m. Monday, Lewis released an email stating the BCSO was on the scene of the shooting.

The suspect, Ronnie Carter, 42, was questioned by deputies and released.

"After consulting with the District Attorney’s office, this case will be presented to a grand jury pending the completion of an ongoing investigation," Lewis stated in a follow-up email this morning. "No charges are being pressed at this time."

The shooting victim, Joshua Nation, 31, was transported to Erlanger Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released.
