CSCC HOSTS FALL
Cleveland State will host a trio of Fall Baseball Classic Tournaments for 18-under high school or select teams. The dates are Aug. 26-27 (enter by Aug. 19), Sept. 23-24 (enter by Sept. 16) and Oct. 14-15 (enter by Oct. 7). Each event will have an eight-team limit and feature four pool play games. FLAMES ELITE CAMP
The Lee Flames men’s basketball program will host their Elite Camp Aug. 12. The camp is open to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school who are serious about playing basketball at the collegiate level. Prospective student-athletes and their families will get to experience the Lee campus, get acquainted with the Flames coaching staff, and play with and against other quality prospects. JOHN PIERCE MEMORIAL
The John Pierce Memorial Golf tournament will take place Aug. 26 at Chatata Valley Golf Club. The 4-person, select-shot tournament will tee off at 8 a.m. The entry fee is $60 per person and includes lunch, and prizes. There will be long dive and closest to the hole awards. FALL SOFTBALL LEAGUE MEETINGS
Anyone interested in putting a men’s or co-ed team in the Fall Softball League should attend an organizational meeting Monday Aug. 14 at Cleveland Community Center on South Church Street. CMS TENNIS TRYOUTS
The 2017 Cleveland Middle School girls tennis team will have tryouts Aug. 11. The tryouts will last from 3:45-5 p.m. All participants will need to bring a tennis racket, proper tennis shoes and athletic clothes. CMS will play 14 matches this season. Skills tested will be serving, forehand, backhand, volley, etc. Teams will be announced the day of tryouts, while official practice will begin Aug. 15 from 3:45-5:00 p.m
