BASEBALLLEE BASEBALLADVANCED SKILLS CAMPCoach Mark Brew and the Lee University baseball team will hold an Advanced Skills Camp at Larry Carpenter Stadium at Olympic Field June 29-July 1. This camp for ages 8-15, focuses on the advanced instruction of hitting, pitching, and catching. Each camper will receive instruction as well as participate in the same drills that are given daily to college level athletes. Cost is $70 for hitting, $55 for pitching and catching, or $115 for both sessions. Each participant will receive a T-shirt. Camp capacity may be limited by CDC, state, or local guidelines, but registration will continue until that limit is met. Walk-up registrations will not be held this year. There is a sibling discount of $20. Don Ledford  Automotive Center will give away for a new 2020 vehicle for a hole in one. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last places, as well as door prizes. Hole sponsorship can be purchased for $125, with all donations tax deductible. The cost to play in the 18-hole event is $60 per player, with mulligans available for purchase the day of the event. Each of the first four days will be divided into three basic sections: 1. Group activity for approximately 30 minutes. 2. Skill work, fun games, and team training for approximately 60 minutes. 3. 4 v 4 games for approximately 60 minutes (1-2 games per day). There will be a small award ceremony on the last day. Registration will be limited to 48 participants per section. Ages 4-7 will go from 9-11:30 a.m., while ages 8-12 will come from 5:30-8 p.m. LEE SOCCERDAY CAMP Set for July 20-24 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., this teaching camp for ages 7-12 is designed for players of all skill levels. Campers are challenged to improve in a positive and fun environment. Each morning will begin with a technical session helping players learn the essential skills of passing, receiving, dribbling, turning, and shooting. These skills are then built upon throughout the day with small-sided games, individual competitions, and ladder games. Each afternoon will conclude with small scrimmage games. All staff are current Lee Men’s Soccer coaches or players and all have full background checks completed prior to the start of camp. The sessions will run from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday. The cost of the camp is $125, with a sibling discount available. The camp was originally scheduled for April, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the camp was postponed. All players not already registered need to complete the registration form on the camp website and bring it with you. If players are not already registered Coach Hudson asks that they also please call her office at 423-614-8453 so camp numbers can be adjusted. The 20th annual Cleveland Blue Raiders Camp of Champions for athletes in grades one through eight will take place July 14-17 at Cleveland High School from 9 a.m.-noon.
