Jesus Christ — impacting the world

More than 2,000 years ago, an event occurred which had an impact on the entire universe — Jesus Christ came to the Earth. Nations were shaken; kingdoms were threatened; and humanity entered into a new era — the Grace Dispensation — through the entrance of Jesus into this world. The world was affected forever with the birth of a baby in Bethlehem.

It was prophesied; it was told through the generations; it was expected, yet, it was a surprise. What a change occurred in the world! The whole religious world was upset.

No longer did people have to give a sacrifice for their sins. No longer could keeping the law justify man’s wrong. No longer did salvation depend on actions. Jesus’ dying on the cross changed everything. The death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, the only begotten Son of God, fulfilled the plan of God for the redemption of man.

If keeping the law brought salvation, then Christ would not have had to die on the cross. His death was to make a difference in people’s lives.

The law could not change lives, because it could not change the heart. But Christ changes the heart and makes man a new creature. It is a transformation wrought by the power of the risen Christ.

Jesus knew that it would only be through the cross  — the saving grace of Christ, the Son of God, would be to all people.

The Son of God’s coming to this world brought a transition from the law to the better way through Christ.

We see in this, the Old and the New brought into one. Christ came to this earth for the express purpose of being the sacrificial Lamb to take away the sins of the world; he was to give his life that we might have life. His blood shed on the cross means to us eternal life. His blood on our hearts means that death has no power over us — we have life through Jesus Christ, our Savior.

The Lord’s birth ushered in a new kingdom. The Lord’s death brought in the New Testament.

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people” (Luke 2:10 KJV).
