LifeCircle Women’s Healthcare and A Step Ahead Chattanooga invite the public to attend an open house Feb. 23 to hear about a community effort that empowers Cleveland women through birth control access.

A Step Ahead Chattanooga provides long-term, reversible birth control (IUDs and implants) to any woman living in Southeast Tennessee who wants it — for free. These low-maintenance methods provide protection when a woman wants it and are fully reversible when she’s ready.
Access to birth control gives a woman the opportunity to complete an education, earn more money, have healthier pregnancies, take care of her children, and live life on her terms.

A Step Ahead Chattanooga, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, started in Hamilton County in 2014, has since expanded to Bradley and nine other counties in Southeast Tennessee. A Step Ahead Chattanooga receives financial support in Bradley County from the George R. Johnson Foundation and others.
More than one-third of A Step Ahead’s clients come from Bradley County. In 2019 alone, more than 250 Cleveland-area women received free birth control thanks to the partnership.
