Resume Workshop

This class will provide step-by-step guidance for creating an effective resume. Class will be held in the computer training room on the library's second floor Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Sign-up required; please contact the Nonfiction Desk at 423-472-2163 to reserve your space.

 

Pieces of the Past: What Quilts Can Tell Us About Our Ancestors

Lori Lockhart, certified archivist at the Tennessee State Library & Archives, will discuss how looking at quilts can help us better understand our family histories. This event will be hosted Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the History Branch & Archives located at 833 N. Ocoee St. Please contact the History Branch at 423-479-8367 with any questions. 

 

Basics for Windows 10

February lessons have been extended into end of March. Classes are 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays. These are two-hour classes. If you missed previous classes, you’re still welcome to attend, but previous material will not be reviewed in class.

 

WiggleWorms is a baby program that targets children 2 years of age and under. Babies with their guardians will be listening to stories, rolling and bouncing, waddling and toddling to music, including classical and multicultural, all for the purpose of developing motor and social skills. The program will be held in the Community Room, Monday from 3 to 4 p.m.

 

Teen Zone Gaming

Join us Monday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.for drop-in Wii and X-Box gaming in the Teen Zone! For ages 13-17, there will be Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Just Dance, and more! You may bring an E-rated multiplayer game to share. Email teenzone@clevelandlibrary.org for more information.

 

Resume Workshop

ZUMBA
Don’t forget the library offers free Zumba classes every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning at 8:10 a.m.

Preschool Story Time meets Tuesday in the Kid’s Zone from 10:30 to 11:15  a.m.


Bilingual Story Time
Lively story time for ages 5 years and under, with crafts, music and stories in Spanish and in English. Meets Tuesday in the Community Room from 1 to 1:45 p.m.

 

Movie Matinee

Join us Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. for John Ford's "The Quiet Man," winner of two Oscars and featuring the beauty of Ireland. Starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, it is a perfect way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

STEM Project - The Life and Legacy of Nicola Tesla

Join us as we explore the many contributions made to the field of technology by the inventor Nicola Tesla. Meets Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Carmichael Room.

 

Baby Bookworms meets on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. to noon and again at 1 to 2 p.m. Stories, music and fun activities for ages birth to 3 years.

 

LIbrary Tour

Thursday, from 4 to 5 p.m., get a first-hand view of your Cleveland Bradley County Public Library. Meets at the Circulation Desk.

 

Lego Club

A time for Lego creations for ages 8-12 with Lego Buddies (teen volunteers). Meets Thursday in the Community Room from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

 

 

Friends of the Library Bargain Book Sale.

The event will be held in the Community Room on Friday, March 15, from 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come support your local library and find some great deals in the bargain!

 

FOLA Book and Coffee

The Friends of the Library Association will host their Book and Coffee series in the History Branch Parlor Room at 10 a.m., this Friday. Join your friends as you enjoy coffee and a book review. It is not necessary to have read the book prior to coming to this event. The purpose of Book & Coffee is to pique your interest. This free event is open to the public and FOLA provides the coffee.  

 

 

Mid-Day Build

All ages are welcome to a Lego building event Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Community Room. Come build with us!

 

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Preparation 
The VITA program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. No appointment is needed for this drop-in service. Please bring: Photo ID of taxpayer and spouse (if filing jointly). Bring Social Security cards for dependents. If possible, bring your 2016 tax filing. Meets Saturday in the Community Room from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Family Story Time
Join us Saturday from 2 to 2:30 p.m. stories for the whole family with crafts. Meets in the Children’s Department and the Community Room.
