Lawrence Earnest Hunt, 76, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in a local hospital.
He was born in Cleveland on June 10, 1941, a son of the late Earnest and Lillie Green Hunt. He and his late brother, James, were known carpenters and worked locally for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Jean Hunt; and six siblings: Hershel Hunt, Charles Hunt, Thelma Hunt, Hazel Gallaher, James Hunt and Jay Hunt.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Bessie Faye Murr Hunt; one daughter, Janet Mayweather, and husband, Kenneth; one son, Jeff Hunt, and wife, Amy; eight grandchildren; one great- grandchild; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home parlor on Saturday.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, ,July 15, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, 2419 Georgetown Road, with his nephew, Terry Hunt, officiating.
The interment and committal service is planned for Sunday at 1 p.m. in Fort Hill Cemetery with his family and friends serving as pallbearers.
