Cleveland State Community College lost in straight sets to Gadsden State Community College on the road Monday evening.
The Lady Cougars now hold an 8-10 (0-3) record while sporting a 3-5 home record and a 4-2 road record. Cleveland State fell to 0-3 against Gadsden State this season.
Cleveland State dropped the first set by a score of 25-12. They tried to get the momentum rolling out of the gate but couldn't overcome Gadsden.
The second set sang a similar tune, as Gadsden took a 25-10 victory moving its match score to 2-0 over the Lady Cougars.
Finishing the match, Gadsden again rolled to a 25-19 set three score.
The Lady Cougars came out with a better showing in the third set, keeping it close, but ultimately could not finish.
Cleveland State had two wins in a row before dropping matches to Snead State and Gadsden State, but will look to right the ship against Chattanooga State on the road today at 6 p.m.
After the road trip, the Lady Cougars will return to play in front of the home crowd as they welcome Catawba Community College on Thursday.
