Junior S. Prichard
Junior S. Prichard, 87, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 10, 2018, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was born in Polk County on Aug. 9, 1930, a son of the late Charlie and Viola Wilson Prichard.
He was a retired veteran of 22 years from the United States Air Force, where he served his country in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After retiring from the Air Force, he went on to work and retired from McKee Baking Company. He was a member of the East Side Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son-in-law, David Williams; and two brothers: Robert Prichard and Boyd Prichard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Juanita Mantooth Prichard; two daughters: Beth Davis (William) and Melody Williams; three grandchildren: Josh Prichard (Megan), Ashton Williams and Baylen Gamble (Josh); three great-grandchildren: Joan Prichard, Emery Prichard and Evie Gamble; one brother, Dennis Prichard; and numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A Celebration of His Life is planned at 7 evening, Feb. 13, 2018, in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, with Minister Jeff Archey officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 until the 7 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
The interment and committal service will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery and will conclude with full military honors.
