Josh Davis receives doctorate
Dr. Joshua Matthew Davis, a graduate of the 2000 class at Bradley Central High, received his doctorate of philosophy in music education from University of Florida Aug. 9.
He received his bachelor of music education degree and masters of arts in curriculum and instruction from Tennessee Technological University.
Davis served three years with the 101ist Airborne Division Band and four years with the 129th Tennessee Army National Band. He was promoted to sergeant.
In 2008 Davis was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation: Enduring Freedom. He is a recipient of the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. Davis has accepted a position as assistant professor of music at the Louisana College in Pineville, La.
He is the son of Robert B. and Terry R. Davis of Cleveland and brother of Nathan Davis of Nashville.
