John Eddie Kennedy, 63, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019.
He was born in Athens on Feb. 25, 1956, to the late Clarence and Betsy Kennedy.
He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator his whole life.
He was also preceded in death by sisters: Bonnie Ricker, Martha Patterson and Becky Chandler; brothers: Rick and Donnie Kennedy; and first wife, Susie Kennedy.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Linda Kennedy, of Cleveland; sons: Rusty Kennedy and Dusty (Amy) Kennedy, all of Decatur; stepson, Charles Gee of Cleveland; brothers: Bud Kennedy of Decatur, Doug Kennedy of Kentucky; sisters: Maxine Stokes of Decatur, Mildred Borden of Clarksville, Mary Ruth Kennedy of Athens and Pat Kennedy of Decatur; several grandkids, including Austin and Sierra Kennedy, Jax Roberts and Khiya Conner; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Bowers Funeral Home of Decatur today, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The funeral will be on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with a burial to follow in Clear Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wayne Borden, Ricky Kennedy, Mark Patterson, Johnny Patterson, Jacob Rimmel and Landon Gentry.
