Jessie Mae Wollard
Jessie Mae Wollard, 77, of Cleveland, passed away on Oct. 16, 2017.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1940, to the late Annie Ethel Yates Cross and Harrison Jacob Cross.
She was a lover of music, especially old gospel music and classic country. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and loved her church.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Smith; two sons: Bobby Dale Smith and Ronnie Lee Smith; and three brothers: C.L. Cross, Bob Cross and David Cross.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory five children: Charlotte and Stan Ruff of Homosassa, Fla., Gary Smith and Robin and Bambi Smith, all of Cleveland, Karen and Tom Feeney of Homosassa, Fla., and Sheila Smith of Ocala, Fla.; 13 grandchildren: Scotty, Cody, Tracey, Mike, Brandon, Rachel, Thomas, Jessica, Kayla, Will, Jessica Nelson, Chris and Nichelle; brothers and sisters: Alice and Clyde Lamb, Wilma Mansfield, Louise Comp, and Herbie and Kenneth Cross, all of Florida, and Irean Brannon of Tennessee: 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Companion Funeral Home, 2419 Georgetown Road N.W.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7 p.m. following the visitation, with the Rev. Clint Ledford officiating.
