Jerry Cross recently submitted his petition for the post of 5th District Bradley County commissioner, Seat A, subject to the Republican county primary May 1.

Cross is retired from the Rental Division of Burris Properties.

He said he feels he can “devote his time to work to improve his Bradley County community.”

He said as a “parent and grandparent, one of my main interests is to keep education improvements progressing.”

“I want to intensify representation for my district,” he said. To do this, he plans to return all phone calls from his constituents.

A lifelong resident of Bradley County, Cross attended Bradley Central High School. He served in the U .S. Army for three years and is a Vietnam veteran who was honorably discharged.

Cross is a member of Beacon Baptist Church. He has been active in the congregation for the past 11 years.
