James Lane


James Kenneth “Kent” Lane, 79, a lifelong resident of McDonald, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

He loved the outdoors and one of his favorite hobbies was coon hunting. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Lane; parents, W.T. Lane and Lizzie Lane; brothers: Elmer, Charles Thomas, Loyd and Arnold Lane; sisters: Rita Faye Lane, Mary Frances Lane, Martha Lane and Dorothy Bettis; stepsons: Dave and Rick Breeden; and stepdaughter, Pam McMullin.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Freda (Dewayne) Frazier; stepson, James (Karen) Breeden; grandchildren: Christie (Mark) Jenkins and Jason (Amy) Frazier; stepgrandchildren: Emily Shelton, Hayley Marler and Kachay Barrios; great-grandchildren: Kiley Frazier, Dyllan Jenkins, Morgan Jenkins, Chandler Frazier, Ashlyn Williams and Nate Wynn; stepgreat-grandchildren: Isreal Barrios and Delilah Blankenship; siblings: Teresa Holcomb, Betty (Jim) Nance and Leola Lane; special nephews: Steve (Charlene) Breeden and William (Faye) Lane; and several more nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 this evening at Companion Funeral Home, Cleveland Chapel.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Bancroft Church of God, with the interment to follow at Earls Cemetery in White Oak. Steve Taylor will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Bettis, Roger Holcomb, Jason Frazier, Mark Jenkins, Dyllan Jenkins and Robert Pack. Honorary: William Lane and Gerald Sherlin.
