James Thomas Grissom, 74, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday March 30, 2019, in a local hospital.
He was the son of the late Johnny Cleo and Viola Walker Grissom. He also was preceded in death by his grandchildren: Jacob and Talon Grissom.
He was a long timber cutter.
He is survived by his sons: James Keith Grissom, James Douglas Grissom and Tracy Eugene Grissom; daughters: Janice Cook and Angela Golden; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his sisters: Judy Gentry and Barbara Bishop.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Avenue Chapel, with family and friends sharing their memories of James.
The interment will follow at the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Meigs County.
The family will receive friends Thursday, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
