Jackie “Jack” Darrell Lane, 67, formerly of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017.
He graduated from Cleveland High School and received full scholarships to play football at the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
He married his college sweetheart, Marlene Jacqueline Beaver, and moved to Memphis, where he pursued a successful career in the medical sales industry. He enjoyed his passion of hunting and fishing with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Lane and Thelma Swafford; a brother, Danny Lane; and a sister, Billie Rose Lane.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marlene; his two children, Jennifer Lane Nitschke and Jarrett Lane; three sisters: Susan Crisp, Cheryl Lane and Beth Lane; and a grandson, Ingram.
He was a friend to everyone he met and was loved by all. A Celebration of Life was held at the family’s home on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, in Nashville.
Music City Mortuary, Nashville, was in charge of arrangements.
